No, you're not imagining it.

Too many women live with their symptoms for years before anyone really listens.

At last, someone who listens and understands. After my welcome call, I had a video appointment with a gynaecologist who specialises in hormonal health. Exactly what I needed. Don’t struggle with your symptoms alone: things can get better sooner than you think.

Laura

Thanks to Days of Confidence, I saw a gynaecologist who didn’t just listen, she supported me all the way through. It’s so hard to be told that at my age it’s normal to have less energy, less desire, less drive. Well, no. I want to keep living and working with all the energy I’ve got. Thank you, Days of Confidence, for being there for me. For all of us.

I was scared of hormone treatment, with everything you hear. My doctor took the time to explain it all: my test results, my options, what the science actually says. We made a plan together, and she really followed up. Three months on, I’m sleeping through the night and the hot flushes have stopped.

Recognise several of these? That’s no coincidence.

Menopause isn’t just hot flushes. Symptoms can start years before your last period and affect your sleep, mood, energy, memory, weight and intimate health.

Tap a symptom to find out more.

Brain fog

Words on the tip of your tongue, reading the same line twice, losing your thread mid-sentence. Oestrogen helps fuel your brain, so when it swings, your focus does too. And less progesterone means poorer sleep, which makes the fog thicker.

Sleep problems

Out like a light one night, wide awake at 3am the next. Progesterone used to help you switch off, and there’s less of it now. Add night sweats from shifting oestrogen, and deep sleep is often the first thing to go.

Anxiety

An email, a meeting, running ten minutes late, and suddenly your stress is through the roof. Progesterone has a natural calming effect, and oestrogen helps keep serotonin steady. When both are in flux, everything feels heavier than it used to.

Joint pain

Knees that creak when you stand up, stiff hands first thing in the morning. Oestrogen helps keep inflammation in check, so when levels dip, joints can feel stiff and sore. Lower testosterone also makes it harder to keep the muscle that supports them.

Hot flushes

A wave of heat rising from your chest to your face, lasting one to five minutes. When oestrogen dips, your brain’s thermostat becomes oversensitive, so even a tiny change in temperature can set one off.

Palpitations

Your heart suddenly races or pounds while you’re doing nothing at all. Shifting oestrogen affects the nerves that control your heart rhythm. Unsettling in the moment, rarely serious, but always worth mentioning to your doctor.

Mood swings

Laughing one minute, in tears the next, or ready to tell everyone where to go. Oestrogen and progesterone are rising and falling faster than before, and both affect the brain chemicals that keep your mood steady.

Weight gain

Your waistline is changing, even though you’re eating exactly the same. Lower oestrogen moves fat storage towards your tummy. And as testosterone gradually declines, you lose some muscle, so your metabolism slows too.

Low libido

Desire takes longer to show up, or sometimes doesn’t show up at all. Testosterone, which fuels desire, gradually declines, and lower oestrogen can make arousal slower and sex less comfortable. It’s common, it’s not ‘all in your head’, and it can be treated.

Vaginal dryness

Dryness, and sometimes a little discomfort day to day. Oestrogen keeps vaginal tissue naturally moist, so lower levels mean less moisture. It’s very common, and still far too rarely talked about.

Irregular periods

One cycle short, the next one long, then a month with nothing at all. You ovulate less often, so you make less progesterone, while oestrogen swings up and down. Periods can get heavier too. It’s often the very first sign of perimenopause.

Night sweats

Waking up soaked in the middle of the night, changing the sheets, then lying awake. It’s a hot flush triggered by shifting oestrogen, just at night. And with less calming progesterone, getting back to sleep is harder.

Painful sex

Discomfort, or real pain, during or after sex. Lower oestrogen makes vaginal tissue thinner and more delicate, so something that never used to hurt suddenly can. You don’t have to put up with it.

Dry skin

Skin that feels tight, marks more easily and has lost some of its bounce. Oestrogen helps your skin make collagen, and you can lose up to 30% of it in the first five years after menopause.

Fatigue

A tiredness that won’t shift, even after a good night’s sleep. Less progesterone means lighter, more broken sleep, and swings in oestrogen bring night sweats and low mood. You feel it from the moment you wake up.

Hair loss

More hair in your brush, a parting that looks wider than before. Oestrogen and progesterone both help keep hair growing. With less of them, androgens (hormones like testosterone) have more effect, and hair grows back finer.

Your questions, answered

What is ReConnect, by Days of Confidence?

ReConnect is the digital health-monitoring solution that coordinates your (peri)menopause journey over time: the same doctor, trained in this transition, and a team by your side between appointments, at your own pace. Understand what is happening, move forward with confidence.

Can you see a menopause specialist online?

Yes. All consultations are remote, from home. You are seen by a doctor registered in France and trained in (peri)menopause, who has read your questionnaire and your test results before the appointment. Your prescription is sent to you digitally and is valid at your usual pharmacy.

Are your doctors registered with the French Medical Council?

Yes. All the doctors who hold consultations for France are registered and licensed to practise in France. We select them on three criteria: a recognised specialty, an active clinical practice and accredited training in (peri)menopause.

How does ReConnect support work?

ReConnect support lasts 3 months (Flow) or 12 months (Harmony). You always see the same doctor, who has read your file before each consultation. Between appointments, you record your symptoms in your app, ask your care coordinator any questions, and your health coach supports you with sleep, nutrition and physical activity. At the next consultation, your doctor can see what has changed. You will find full details of the plans on the ReConnect page.

Which doctor should you see for menopause?

In France, several specialties look after (peri)menopause: medical gynaecology, general practice, endocrinology. What matters as much as the specialty is specific training in menopause: a university diploma in endocrine gynaecology, membership of GEMVI, regular practice in this field. At Days of Confidence, every doctor consults on this area alone.

Can I have a consultation if I don't live in a big city?

Yes. All consultations take place remotely: you need an internet connection and a quiet place, nothing more. That is precisely the point of this format: access to a doctor trained in (peri)menopause no longer depends on where you live.

Can your doctors prescribe MHT?

Yes, when it is medically indicated and you want it. The decision is made by your doctor, after a full review of your medical history, never on the basis of a questionnaire alone. If MHT is not indicated in your case, or if you would rather not take it, your doctor will suggest another, non-hormonal approach.

Does HRT carry risks?

Like any treatment, MHT has benefits and risks, and they depend on your personal situation: your medical history, your age, where you are in your menopause. Your doctor assesses them with you, explains them in line with current guidelines and reviews your treatment at every consultation.

What if I can't, or don't want to, take hormones?

It is possible, either way. Many women cannot take hormones and others would rather not. Your doctor can prescribe non-hormonal treatments backed by scientific evidence. With ReConnect, your health coach also supports you with sleep, nutrition and physical activity.

Are my prescriptions valid at the pharmacy?

Yes. Your prescription is sent to you electronically and you present it at your usual pharmacy, like any other prescription. With ReConnect, it is also saved in your app, along with your consultation reports.

Do I need blood tests before the consultation?

They are not required to get started, whether you choose a one-off consultation or ReConnect. If you have recent test results, share them with your doctor: she will read them before the consultation, which makes it more precise. If new tests are needed, your doctor will order them.

How much does it cost?

Three plans. The one-off consultation, with no commitment: €150 for the first consultation and €90 for a follow-up. ReConnect Flow: €90 for 3 months, in a single payment. ReConnect Harmony: €300 for 12 months, that is two months free, in one payment or three. With Flow and Harmony, your consultations cost €110 for the first and €80 for follow-ups; they are invoiced by your doctor, separately from the subscription. Medicines, food supplements and any tests are not included.

Is the consultation reimbursed?

Our consultations are private: they are not covered by the French state health system. Some private health insurance policies include an allowance for this kind of care, so it is worth checking yours. The ReConnect subscription is not reimbursed. Medicines prescribed by your doctor are invoiced by your pharmacy and reimbursed under the usual conditions.

Does Days of Confidence replace my GP?

No. We work alongside your GP, in one specific area: (peri)menopause. Your GP remains your main point of contact for the rest of your health. After each consultation you receive a report that you can pass on to her.

Is my health data protected?

Yes. Your data is hosted with an HDS-certified provider (health data hosting), as required by French regulations. Your reports and prescriptions belong to you: you can download them at any time, during your programme and afterwards, and you can ask for them to be deleted.

What happens after my three months?

It is up to you. (Peri)menopause is not a fixed stage: it often lasts several years, and your body keeps changing. Some symptoms settle, others appear, and a treatment that suits you today may need adjusting tomorrow. At the end of ReConnect Flow, your doctor takes stock with you at your follow-up consultation. So that your treatment can keep evolving with you, with the same doctor and the same team, you can move on to ReConnect Harmony. You can also stop: your treatment remains valid as per your prescription, your documents can still be downloaded, and you can book a one-off consultation at any time.

Do your food supplements replace treatment?

No. Our supplements are formulated for this stage of life and support your medical care, they never replace it. Your doctor recommends them when they are useful; they are bought separately. With ReConnect Harmony, we give you a three-month course.

How do I know if I am in perimenopause?

Perimenopause often begins after the age of 40 and the first sign is usually a change in your cycles, shorter, longer or irregular, along with a range of symptoms: sleep, mood, energy, memory, hot flushes. After 45, the diagnosis is based on your symptoms and your cycles, not on a blood test. Our symptom test helps you take stock; only a doctor can give you an answer.

What is the difference between perimenopause and menopause?

Perimenopause is the transition period before your periods stop: cycles become irregular and symptoms appear, sometimes years in advance. We talk about menopause once you have gone twelve months in a row without a period. In France, the average age of menopause is around 51.

I still have my periods, can I start ReConnect?

Yes. Perimenopause begins years before periods stop, and it is often the stage when women are listened to least. It is also the stage where medical support makes the biggest difference, because symptoms set in long before anyone says the word “menopause”.
